SAT I, SAT II and ACT

ü Register for the SAT I (Reasoning) and II (Subject Tests) at www.collegeboard.com

ü Register for the ACT at http://actstudent.org/

ü The community college does not require any of the above tests, but students will need to take a placement test. Consult the website of the college you wish to attend to find out how to take the test

ü Most colleges prefer the scores from these tests be sent directly to the college.
 

College Applications Process

ü If you need a transcript – complete the transcript release form and turn it in to your floor office. Students are responsible for mailing the transcript.

ü If you need a counselor recommendation, you need to fill out the Information for Letter of Recommendation and return it to the counselor. Allow three – four weeks ahead of the college deadline to give the counselor time to finish the letter.

ü Secondary Reports need to be given to the counselor. Allow three weeks before the deadline for the counselor to finish the report. The student is responsible for mailing the form.

ü Recommendation from Teacher. Submit Information for Letter of Recommendation form to the teacher four weeks prior to the application or scholarship deadline.

Career Center/Work Based Learning

NKHS has a career center located next to the library. Students can go and work with the career counselor in obtaining information about apprenticeships, colleges, technical schools, military etc.
