Become a School Board Director!

Being a school board director is a great way to give back to the community and to help ensure children get an excellent education. School board directors are publicly elected officials - parents and grandparents, young people and senior citizens, and community members from all walks of life.

School directors work together to oversee the school district.  As a board, their primary responsibilities are:
    - Select and evaluate the superintendent
    - Adopt and revise the annual operating budget
    - Review, revise and adopt policies
    - Serve as community representatives
    - Monitor the district's progress towards its goals

North Kitsap has five director positions, each representing one of 5 districts.  Board positions are 4-year terms and are on rotating election years.  Open positions for the 2019 election include:

  • District 2, currently represented by Jim Almond
  • District 4, currently represented by Glen Robbins
  • District 5, currently represented by Cindy Webster-Martinson
  • District 3 is also open for a two-year term from 2019 through 2021. Currently represented by Beth Worthington

Candidate filing for the 2019 election is May 13-17.
