Athletics 2012-13
 
Updated 2012-13 Participation Fees*: Students shall pay $125 at the high school level and $60 per sport at the middle school level. Multiple sport athletes shall pay a maximum of $250 per year at the high school and $120 at the middle school. Free lunch students shall receive a full participation fee waiver.

*Reduced lunch students shall received a financial waiver for one half the participation fee. Reduced Lunch Participation Fee is $62 at the high school (max $125) and $30 at the middle school (max $60).

 
     Basic Eligibility Requirements for Athletic Participation: Enrolled in North Kitsap School District
  • Academically eligible (passing all classes while in season; passed 5 of 6 classes in previous semester)
  • Purchase of an ASB card (Check with your school)
  • No outstanding fines in North Kitsap School District
  • Athletic required forms must be completed, signed and returned to the school athletic office before participating in tryouts or practice.
  • Student Athletic Handbook (Required reading)
  • Concussion Fact Sheet (Required reading)
  • ImPACT Concussion Baseline Testing - High School student-athletes must take the ImPACT concussion baseline test in order to participate in athletics. This testing is done through the Athletic Medicine program and is good for two years at which point they will have to retake their baseline test. 
  • Pre-participation History & Physical Examination Form - (Print, sign and return to school) Renewed every 24 months
  • Athletic Registration Form (Print, sign and return to school)
  • Emergency Insurance Information & Consent Form (Print, sign and return to school) All students must have medical insurance. More information about medical insurance coverage options click here for English or Spanish.
  • Participation Fee Contract - (Print, sign and return to school) High school participation fees will be $125 per sport with the third sport free. Middle school participation fees will be $60 per sport with the third and fourth sport free.
  • Financial Aid Waiver for Athletic Fees - (Print, sign, attach eligibility letter and return to school)Students qualified for free or reduced price meals may apply for a waiver (full or partial) of athletic fees. If the student qualified for free and reduced meals last school year, they will automatically qualify for the free and reduced-price meals for the first 30 days of school. Students will need to complete and submit a new application and have it approved after the first 30 days to be eligible for the waiver. There may be additional requirements specific to a building and a sport that are identified in either the student athletic handbook or the WIAA Handbook. Athletic handbooks are available at all secondary schools and online. The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association may be accessed at www.wiaa.com.
 
In-District or Out-Of-District Student Athlete Transfers
If you are transferring high schools, either from another district, or from within North Kitsap School District and intend to participate in athletics at the varsity level, you may need to appear before the West Central District Eligibility Committee. If an additional hearing date is requested, the cost of the hearing will be the responsibility of the athlete and his/her family.
