Recreational & Educational Opportunities

Host families are needed for exchange students from around the world. Your home could welcome a student (you choose boy or girl) and they would attend the high school closest to your home. Hosting an exchange student often means you will find that you have added a wonderful new member to your family. All students are non-smokers, non-drinkers, have been screened and  passed all background checks, have been personally recommended by their principals for their character and are on the top tier, academically, in their schools. Students come with medical insurance, a monthly allowance, cell phone, lap top and a huge desire to experience our culture.  The host families are to provide the high school student with their own bed, meals and a place to study. Students arrive in August and fly home in July. They are eager to see and experience family life in the U.S and hopefully see some area attractions. The non-profit foundation is A.F.I.C.E, (www.afice.org) Academic Foundation for International Cultural Exchange and is one of the oldest and most highly regarded exchange programs in America. If you are interested, or have questions, please contact me anytime. Contact: Kristi York, AFICE Area Coordinator, (206) 387-6554, kyork@spu.edu
