2024 Capital Bond Measure

2024 Capital Bond Measure Photo
North Kitsap School District is asking voters to consider a capital bond in the February 13, 2024 election. The state provides little to no funding for school construction projects, which is why school districts rely on bonds

The bond provides funding to ensure all students have access to the learning spaces that support their education - whether that is elementary, middle or high school.

Funding raised through this measure will stay in our community. Capital construction bonds require a 60% approval rate by voters.

Proposition 1: The North Kitsap School District Bond

The bond will continue NKSD’s commitment to provide learning spaces and facilities that are built to today’s safety standards, equipped for today’s learning, and instill a sense of belonging and pride for our students, staff, and our community.  This bond will rebuild two elementary schools, continue the modernization at Poulsbo Middle School, eliminate portables across the district, and fund critical improvements across North Kitsap, while keeping taxes stable.

The Bond Supports Learning Across NKSD

  • Equitable Access to safe and modern schools
  • Eliminates aging portables across the district
  • Districtwide improvements with stable taxes
  • Starts a long-term plan to provide safe and modern facilities

Replace Aging Schools with Safe, Modern Facilities

  • Rebuild David Wolfle Elementary
  • Rebuild Hilder Pearson Elementary with New Location
  • Additions for Richard Gordon Elementary, Poulsbo Elementary and Poulsbo Middle School (phase 2)
  • Improve schools districtwide
