School Year Calendars
NKSD's school calendar is established in cooperation with staff and the School Board. The calendar is set well in advance so that families can synchronize their activities with school schedules. Please note: Weather-related makeup days are added to the end of any school year or as noted on the calendar.
2023 - 2024 School Year Calendar
Important Dates:
- August 29: First Day All Grades
- Sept 1 - Sept. 4: No School - Labor Day Break
- Dec. 18 - Jan. 1: No School - Winter Break
- April 1 - April 5: No School - Spring Break
- June 14: Last Day of School - Half Day Dismissal

Elementary School (Kindergarten through Grades 5)
Regular Schedule: 9:20 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Wednesday Early Release Schedule: 9:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
Conference Half Day Release (10/25/23 and 3/20/24 only): 9:20 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Half Day Release: 9:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
Only breakfast is served on half days. No lunch service.
