Capital Projects Update - Fall 2023

It was a busy summer for our Capital Projects team! Six projects were completed over the summer and nine projects are in Progress this fall. Our first construction project in 16 years is underway with the addition at Poulsbo Middle School. This is an exciting first step in providing modern learning spaces for our students.

Projects completed over the summer include:

• Security Improvements at several campuses with the addition of more security cameras, entry devices and access door controllers.
• North Kitsap High School track resurfacing
• Poulsbo Middle School Building 3 (Pool and Auditorium) HVAC replacement
• North Kitsap High School tennis court replacement and resurfacing
• Vinland Elementary safe walking pass, security fencing and bus loop revision
• Information Technology - telephone replacement districtwide

Projects currently in progress this fall and throughout the 2023-2024 school year:

• Poulsbo Middle School addition: 18,000 sf two-story addition that will eliminate portable classrooms and improve student safety by connecting buildings 1 and 2.
• Suquamish Elementary School gymnasium addition: Permitting is finally moving forward at the County permitting offices. This project will provide a stand-alone gym so that the school will have a dedicated common space/cafeteria. This will support enhanced student learning by providing relief in the school's master schedule.
• Kingston Middle School building signage
• Kingston High School track refurbishment
• Richard Gordon Elementary playfield drainage and irrigation project
• Technology: Uninterruptible Power Supply improvements
• Technology: Wireless Access Point replacements
• District wide master planning
• David Wolfle Elementary gymnasium - pending 2024 Capital Bond results.
