Poulsbo Middle School Opens New Expansion, Enhancing Learning Spaces for Students

Students at Poulsbo Middle School kicked off the new year in an exciting way—by stepping into brand-new classrooms! The much-anticipated expansion officially opened the first week of January 2025, providing students and staff with modern, collaborative learning spaces designed to enhance education for years to come.

Funded by the voter-approved 2022 capital projects levy, this $16.3 million project began construction in June 2023. Thanks to the support of our community, the expansion includes:

• Ten new classrooms designed for 21st-century learning, replacing old portables and bringing students into the main building
• A connected, safe, and secure school layout that supports smooth transitions throughout the day
• A STEM space to foster innovation and hands-on learning
• Gathering spaces to encourage student engagement
• A striking graphic wall to inspire creativity
• Improved walkways, fencing, and landscaping for a refreshed campus feel
• Interior and exterior security cameras for added safety

This project was made possible through the expertise of Berschauer Group (General Contractor), Miller Sheet Metal (Mechanical), Taurus Electric (Electrical), Stirrett Johnsen (Plumbing), and Bassetti Architects. Their dedication and craftsmanship have created a space that is bright, airy, and welcoming—designed to support student success.
