Capital Projects

Suquamish Elementary Playground

We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support from our community, which has enabled us to make significant improvements to our schools. In February 2018, North Kitsap voters demonstrated their commitment to our district's success by approving a four-year Capital Levy with over 61% in favor. This approval resulted in $40 million of funding for essential repairs, safety and security upgrades, as well as technology replacements and enhancements. These projects will positively impact every school in our district.

The first collection of funds from the levy began in April 2019, and since then, we have been diligently working to allocate resources to various critical projects. Our long-range plan outlines a strategic approach to addressing the most pressing needs of our schools while also ensuring that we continue to make progress on our broader goals.

As we embark on this exciting journey together, we invite you to explore the details of our projects, review our long-range plan, and learn about some of the milestones we've achieved so far. With your support, we are confident that we can continue to enhance the educational experience for our students and provide them with the best possible learning environment.

The school board approved the temporary use of existing funds in order to start projects ahead of the first levy collection.  The approved funds were allocated from the district's fund balance and will be replaced upon receipt of the April 2019 levy collection. This allowed the district to complete projects ahead of schedule; which provided technology, security and safety/comfort projects that were desperately needed.
