Capital Projects
We are committed to creating safe, modern, and conducive learning environments for all students. In February 2018, over 61% of North Kitsap voters approved a four-year Capital Levy. This resulted in $40 million allocated to essential repairs, safety and security upgrades, and technology enhancements across all district schools. These funds were pivotal in updating outdated infrastructure, improving access control systems, and enhancing digital learning resources, directly and positively impacting every student's learning experience in the district.
Building on this foundation, the community passed a second four-year Capital Projects and Technology Levy in February 2022, providing over $36 million for ongoing school building upgrades, maintenance needs, and further technology enhancements. These funds are used to expand classroom spaces, upgrade heating and cooling systems, and implement advanced technology solutions. The success of these levies, a testament to the community's belief in our students and their future, underscores the strong partnership between NKSD and our community, ensuring our students have access to well-maintained facilities that support their academic and personal growth. Together, we are investing in our children's future and enhancing the educational experience for everyone in the North Kitsap School District.
