Flyer Guidelines

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION PEACHJAR INSTRUCTIONS:

• Ensure your flyer meets the requirements below.
• Visit www.peachjar.com
• Register as an Enrichment / Community Org. (account type).
• Upload your flyer for approval.
• All flyers/posters/brochures/handouts MUST include this statement on the front of the flyer: "The North Kitsap School District does not sponsor this event and assumes no responsibility for it. Considering the opportunity to distribute materials, the North Kitsap School District shall be held harmless from any cause of action filed in any court or administrative tribunal arising from the distribution of these materials, including costs, attorney’s fees, and judgments or awards."

Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district office. District staff will review the material and approve or deny based on the standards below. Peachjar charges a fee for this service that is typically much less than the cost of copying and delivering paper flyers to each school. Flyers are typically approved on Tuesdays and Fridays.

FLYER APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS

The District does not endorse or recommend any program or events. Flyers, literature, or announcements must come from registered non-profit organizations which are both compatible with the objectives of the North Kitsap School District and have social, recreational, or educational value to the students. They must also be approved by the Superintendent or designee.

Flyers will be considered only when the following have been met:

• Programs and events are held within Kitsap County.
• Events are youth-related or related to youth education.
• The sponsoring organization's name and contact information is displayed.
• The sponsor is a non-profit organization (501(c) or state nonprofit).
• School and or District name is only included as part of the location information for those events which are held in District Schools.
• The following disclaimer is displayed on all materials: "The North Kitsap School District does not sponsor this event and assumes no responsibility for it. Considering the opportunity to distribute materials, the North Kitsap School District shall be held harmless from any cause of action filed in any court or administrative tribunal arising from the distribution of these materials, including costs, attorney’s fees, and judgments or awards."

We will not distribute materials that:

• Do not display district disclaimer language.
• Are obscene, lewd or vulgar, or libelous.
• Contain language that is intimidating, mean, harassing, or threatening based on race, religion, color, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or veteran status, including, but not limited to, racial, sexual, or ethnic slurs.
• Promote commercial enterprises.
• Promote the violation of existing laws, regulations, ordinances, or official school policies, rules, or regulations.
• Proselytize or disparage religious beliefs.

Your school's Peachjar administrator can upload flyers to the school's Peachjar account. Check with your school's office to contact their Peachjar administrator. If you would like to send a flyer to other schools, it must be sent from the district. Contact Jenn Markaryan to submit your flyer. Please note the reason for the request and which schools you need the flyer to go to.

Individual schools may post flyers for their school that promote information and events related to:

• School
• Parent-Teacher Associations
• North Kitsap Schools Foundation
• Booster Clubs
• ASB Clubs
• Sports Teams

Important Note: All flyers/posters/brochures/handouts promoting an event or fundraiser MUST include this statement on the front of the flyer: "The North Kitsap School District does not sponsor this event and assumes no responsibility for it. Considering the opportunity to distribute materials, the North Kitsap School District shall be held harmless from any cause of action filed in any court or administrative tribunal arising out of the distribution of these materials, including costs, attorney’s fees, and judgments or awards."

Community and Non-Profit organizations must submit flyers directly through Peachjar.
