The Department of Learning and Teaching champions schools by supplying effective, research-driven educational resources, extending support to students and families through a wide array of specialized programs, fostering professional growth for staff, and overseeing state and district assessments/testing. Our objective is to reinforce the North Kitsap School District's pledge to equip our students for a future that is yet to be envisioned.
Our team of professionals offers an extensive range of services, including:
- Overseeing the selection, implementation, and continuous assistance of instructional materials that align with Washington State Learning Standards, ensuring the highest quality of educational resources
- Orchestrating state and district-level assessments to empower teachers in making well-informed instructional decisions, resulting in improved student learning outcomes
- Providing guidance to schools in aligning their instructional methodologies with the latest research findings and industry best practices, fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence
- Collaborating with schools to facilitate professional development opportunities for staff, enabling them to refine their skills and stay current with evolving educational trends
- Ensuring that all schools adhere to local, state, and federal education mandates, particularly in relation to funding provisions such as LAP, Title, and local levy allocations, promoting transparency and accountability in the use of resources
