May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Appreciation Month

Each May, North Kitsap School District joins the nation in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This is a time to recognize the many generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans who have enriched our schools, community, and country.
AAPI heritage spans a wide range of cultures and traditions, from East, Southeast, and South Asia to the islands of the Pacific. These communities bring diverse languages, histories, and experiences—each adding meaning and depth to our shared story at NKSD.
We are proud to celebrate and uplift the students, staff, and families who represent the AAPI community in our schools. This month is about honoring the culture, traditions, and impact of those who continue to shape our district and beyond.
