Celebrating Arab American Heritage Month

Celebrating Arab American Heritage Month
Updated

April is Arab American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Arab Americans and to learn more about the rich cultures and histories represented across Arab communities. Arab Americans trace their heritage to 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. These communities represent a wide range of identities, languages, traditions, and lived experiences.

In the North Kitsap School District, we are committed to creating a place where every student feels a sense of belonging. Celebrating heritage months is one way we help students learn about one another and better understand the world around them. Throughout this month, students may engage with stories, history, and classroom activities that highlight Arab American voices and perspectives.

We are grateful for the many ways Arab American students, families, and staff contribute to our schools every day.
