Exciting Leadership Changes at North Kitsap School District
We are thrilled to announce some exciting leadership changes within our district, reflecting our commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for all our students. Michael Cron has accepted the position of Principal for Poulsbo Middle School. Mr. Cron brings a wealth of experience and a solid commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students. In his most recent role as Director of Student Support Services at Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District, he launched a comprehensive mental health services program and an integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, significantly reducing student suspensions and chronic absenteeism. His efforts created one of the most extensive clinical school-based mental health programs in Alaska, providing essential support and bettering the lives of many students.
We are also pleased to share that Megan Sawicki will take on the district role of Systems and Student Support Program Supervisor. Having served as Principal of North Kitsap High School for the past eight years, Ms. Sawicki has significantly contributed to our school community. Her new role will allow her to continue supporting our students and staff by overseeing the district's essential systems and student support programs. Her dedication and expertise will be invaluable in this new capacity.
Additionally, we are delighted to introduce Bob Marshall, a familiar face in our community, as the new Interim Principal of North Kitsap High School. Mr. Marshall's extensive experience and unwavering commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students make him a perfect fit for our school. For the past five years, he has served as the assistant principal at North Kitsap High School, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a dedication to academic excellence. Previously, he was the principal at Ketchikan High School, Ketchikan Charter School, and Emmonak School in Alaska.
