The 2nd Annual NAVSEA PSNS & IMF Robotics Competition took place on Saturday, April 20th, at Olympic High School, featuring over 35 teams and more than 60 students from Kingston Middle School and Hilder Pearson Elementary. This event, marked by months of preparation and collaboration, provided students with a platform to demonstrate their robotics skills and teamwork.
Students from Kingston Middle School's Robotics Signature program, composed of students from grades 6, 7, and 8, and Pearson Elementary's Robotics Club participated in a series of challenging tasks, highlighting their problem-solving abilities and perseverance. With support from dedicated volunteers, the competition showcased the commitment of the local community to STEM education.
Kingston Middle School's "Ringo 5" claimed the top middle school spot, with team "Ringo 6" just on their heels in second place. Pearson Elementary's "Team Timmy" secured first place, with "Space Bots" earning a close second. Through these achievements, students learned valuable lessons in problem-solving and teamwork.
Beyond the thrill of competition, this day provided students with invaluable learning opportunities, imparting essential skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience. As participants navigated the challenges before them, they not only honed their technical abilities but also gained confidence in their ability to tackle complex problems and work collaboratively towards a shared goal.
