Remembering Jimmy Carter
On Thursday, January 9th, our nation will observe a National Day of Mourning to honor the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter, a leader whose deep compassion, commitment to service, and advocacy for humanity have left an indelible mark on our world.
While North Kitsap schools will remain in session, we encourage our school community to take a moment to reflect on President Carter’s lasting impact. From his leadership as the 39th President of the United States to his decades of humanitarian efforts through Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center, his work exemplified care, humility, and dedication to building a better future for all.
We encourage you to join us in honoring his memory by fostering kindness and compassion in our actions and in the way we support one another. Flags at all NKSD facilities will be at half mast through sunset on Tuesday, January 28.
