Uniting for Literacy: Celebrating the impact of Community through Prime Time Families Program
We want to celebrate the remarkable contributions of our North Kitsap School District and Kitsap Regional Library staff, who have significantly impacted our community through the Prime Time Families program at the Poulsbo Kitsap Regional Library. This initiative, funded by Humanities Washington, showcases the power of collaboration, literacy, and family engagement. Over the past few weeks, we've seen an overwhelming turnout from our Spanish-speaking families who have come together to engage in enriching book discussions and celebrate the joy of reading.
We want to give a special shoutout to our outstanding educators and staff who have been instrumental in the success of this program.
Maria Smith, our dedicated Dual Language Program teacher from Vinland Elementary, whose expertise and passion for bilingual education have enriched the lives of many.
Joaly Ray, our talented Coordinator for the Multilingual Learning and Language Access program, ensures that every participant feels heard and included.
Becky Ryan, Vinland Elementary's Library Media Specialist, whose selections have sparked curiosity and deep conversations among attendees.
Meg Beade Stowe and Pam Crowe from the Poulsbo Kitsap Regional Library, whose unwavering support and organization have made these events possible and successful.
The Prime Time Families program is more than just an event; it aims to foster a community centered on lifelong learning and promote the love of reading across different languages and cultures. To participate in the program, interested individuals are required to register; unfortunately, the current session is already full. However, future sessions may be available, so we encourage you to regularly check the Kitsap Regional Library (KRL) website for updates on new sessions.
Let's continue to support these initiatives that bring our community together and highlight the outstanding contributions of our staff. Together, we're not just teaching reading but fostering a generation of thinkers, dreamers, and lifelong learners.
