Women's History Month
Updated

March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout history. It’s an opportunity to recognize the vital role women have played in shaping our society and to reflect on the progress made—and the work still ahead—in the pursuit of gender equality.

The national celebration began in 1987 when Congress officially designated March as Women’s History Month. It grew from a week-long recognition started in 1978, with organizers choosing the week of March 8 to align with International Women’s Day.

This month, we recognize the women who have shaped history, broken barriers, and paved the way for future generations. Their impact is felt in every part of our lives, and we take this time to reflect on and honor their contributions.
