Celebrating Women's History Month

Women's History Month is the annual celebration of the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout history. It takes place during the month of March and serves as a time to recognize and honor the role of women in society.

The month-long celebration began in the United States in 1987 when Congress declared March as Women's History Month. The commemoration grew out of a week-long celebration of women's achievements that began in 1978. The original organizers selected the week of March 8 to correspond with International Women's Day.

Women's History Month provides an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the vital role that women have played in shaping our history and culture. It also serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles for gender equality and the importance of empowering women in all aspects of society.
