High School and Beyond Plan
The High School & Beyond Plan (HSBP) is an essential component of the Washington state graduation requirements. The HSBP is designed to guide each student's high school journey and prepare them for postsecondary education, training, and careers. Students commence their plans in eighth grade and continue to revise them throughout their high school tenure to adapt to evolving interests, educational pathways, and career aspirations.
Every year, parts of the High School & Beyond Plan are developed, each layer building upon the previous year's progress. The HSBP plays a pivotal role in the North Kitsap School District, where it is implemented through a sequence of lessons and experiences led by our devoted and knowledgeable staff. This comprehensive plan is individually crafted, placing emphasis on students' interests, strengths, and future ambitions.
High School & Beyond Plans are assessed and updated at least annually. This review allows us to measure student progress, adjust the plan as necessary (including course enrollment), and evaluate the student's post-high school objectives. Additionally, this regular evaluation process monitors the student's progress towards fulfilling their high school graduation requirements. It's important to note that every component of the High School & Beyond Plan must be completed prior to graduation.
