Robotics at Kingston Middle School

students working with a robot Most middle school students are enthusiastic users of information technology. While adults may struggle to adapt to increasingly sophisticated technologies, students take them for granted as a part of their everyday activities. Robotics is a new program designed to offer our middle school students the opportunity to experience hands-on, real-world experiences in engineering, computer science, math, and science through an integrated program that will give them the skills, knowledge, and attributes to succeed in the professional world of the future.

In many 21st-century classrooms, students have opportunities to apply what they learn in math and science. In Robotics classrooms, students learn math, science, and engineering through creativity and hands-on experiences with technology. They engage in investigations, and tech challenges and work to create machines that can carry out automated actions. They work with materials in ways that inspire them to solve problems, meet challenges and work collaboratively with others.
