Capital Facilities Advisory Committee

Voter Approved Capital Project Sign - Promises Made, Promises Kept
Public schools belong to the entire community, and funding for capital improvements is generated through voter-approved levy and bond measures. It is essential community members help develop our long-term capital facilities plan so it reflects the values and priorities of the community.

The Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) was formed in 2017 to develop recommendations for a 2018 capital levy. The committee toured buildings, studied reports and were instrumental in developing a plan to start tackling nearly 20 years of deferred maintenance. They recommended a 4-year $40 million capital levy to complete the highest need projects. The committee has continued to meet to analyze facility needs, and recommend priorities. During the Covid pandemic the committee continued to meet regularly via zoom to provide recommendations for the 2022 Capital Levy and the 2024 Bond.

CFAC is valued as a standing committee to advise district leaders on capital planning recommendations.
