Career & Technical Education

North Kitsap School District's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program prepares students for college, careers, and life after high school. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, students build technical skills, explore career interests, and gain the knowledge employers and colleges value.

CTE gives students opportunities to:

  • Explore career interests beginning in middle school and continue developing career pathways through high school.
  • Create a personalized High School and Beyond Plan with guidance from school counselors.
  • Take hands-on classes that connect academic learning to real careers at North Kitsap School District, the West Sound Skills Center, and Olympic College.
  • Earn high school credit while also earning tuition-free college credit in many programs.
  • Prepare for industry certifications, registered apprenticeships, college, military service, or direct entry into the workforce.
  • Build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through career and technical student organizations, competitions, and community service.

Whether students plan to attend college, begin a career, enter an apprenticeship, or serve in the military, CTE helps them graduate with the skills, experience, and confidence to take the next step.

Career Pathways

Career Pathways help students explore career interests while building the knowledge and skills needed for future success. Each pathway includes a sequence of related courses that connect classroom learning to real careers and prepare students for college, apprenticeships, military service, industry certifications, or the workforce.

Students can explore fields such as agriculture, business, marketing, environmental science, cybersecurity, and many others while gaining hands-on experience and developing skills that align with high-demand careers.
