Business and Marketing Program of Study at North Kitsap High School

The Business & Marketing Program of Study prepares students for careers in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and related fields. Through career exploration, work-based learning, management of the student store, and participation in DECA, students develop the technical, financial, and professional skills needed for college, careers, and the workplace.

Courses

Career Choices (College Credit)
Explore career pathways, develop workplace skills, create resumes, practice interviewing, and learn about entrepreneurship, workplace ethics, and career planning.

Computer Programming & Game Design
Learn programming fundamentals while designing interactive games and developing problem-solving and computational thinking skills.

Financial Fitness
Build financial literacy by learning budgeting, banking, credit, investing, taxes, and other skills that support financial independence. Students also have opportunities to apply their learning through DECA competitions and leadership activities.

Marketing I
Learn the fundamentals of marketing, entrepreneurship, retail operations, advertising, social media, and business planning while exploring how businesses connect with customers.

Store Operations
Gain hands-on experience by managing the student store while learning retail management, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, point-of-sale systems, bookkeeping, and business operations.

Cybersecurity
Explore cybersecurity principles, ethical computing, and digital security while learning to identify and address threats to computer systems and networks.

Work Site Learning (WSL)
Apply classroom learning in a real workplace while earning academic credit through supervised work experiences connected to Career and Technical Education courses.
