AVID

NKSD implements the AVID K-12 College and Career Readiness system districtwide, from kindergarten through 12th grade.

AVID teaches students practical skills including note-taking, organization, collaboration, critical thinking, and advanced questioning techniques.

The program focuses on supporting underrepresented students in higher education and works to close the achievement gap by preparing every student for college and career success. AVID students graduate and attend college at higher rates and develop the skills to navigate future academic and professional challenges with confidence.
