West Sound Technical Skills Center

West Sound Tech is a shared program serving eight school districts, including North Kitsap, that provides free off-campus career and technical training for students ages 16 to 21 in grades 11 or 12. Programs prepare students for apprenticeships, technical schools, two- and four-year colleges, or entry-level employment in their chosen field.

At West Sound Technical Skills Center, students have the opportunity to explore technical skills and career options at no cost. 

Students must be enrolled as a junior or senior at an NKSD high school and meet any additional requirements set by their chosen program.

North Kitsap School District provides bus transportation to West Sound Technical Skills Center at no cost to the students. Students who prefer to drive themselves must obtain permission from both their parents and their home school principal.

West Sound Technical Skills Center offers classes in three period blocks in the morning and afternoon, allowing students to enroll in other classes at their home schools. Morning classes are held from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, while afternoon classes are held from 11:10 AM to 1:40 PM.
