Seal of Biliteracy
Are you a student between grades 7 and 12 who can read, write, speak, and listen fluently in a language other than English? Did you know that you can earn up to four World Language competency-based credits in your heritage language at the North Kitsap School District?
We are pleased to provide the Seal of Biliteracy and Language Credit Competency Testing, a program established by the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Education. This program offers students the chance to earn one to four high school credits in their chosen language through proficiency testing. Students who successfully achieve four credits are awarded the prestigious state Seal of Biliteracy, provided they meet the graduation state standard in English Language Arts.
This opportunity is available to secondary students at Kingston Middle School, Kingston High School, Poulsbo Middle School, and North Kitsap High School, with testing sessions offered once in the fall and once in the spring. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to recognize and reward your linguistic capabilities.
